LCD

This was written on Saturday. Since my entire school seems to shut down during breaks, it’s only now that I’ve been able to find a computer (in a very uncomfortably crowded lab) and post this. So --

Hello readers loyal and first-time. Once again, there’s been a delay in posting. This time, I’ve been lucky enough to lose visibility on my computer screen. The LCD is fine; the brain part is fine, but either the backlight has burnt out or the inverter reached the end of its life. This I figured out on my own. However, while both parts are relatively small and inexpensive, they are obviously vital and apparently difficult to replace. So, until that happens, well, let’s just say there won’t be any updates for a few more days at least. (And I won’t be buying any records for a long time, either.) I’m sorry -- especially if you’re disappointed -- but even so, I bet none of you are as disappointed as I am. At least your computers still work.

My record player has been seeing an unprecedented amount of activity, and I even dug my discman out of the back of some drawer and hooked it up. I have a fairly good-sized CD collection, but I almost always put them onto and listen to music with the computer. Now, in its absence, I’m finding stuff I forgot I had, from back in my high school days. I’m about to put on Black Flag.

But anyway. In the meantime, there have been two shows which I have not posted here. The first, from Wednesday, 26. march, featured a playlist chosen and commentary provided almost exclusively by my sister, Becca (who spoke English). While it was a good show, I unfortunately am unable to remember much of what was played, and the only place the playlist exists is on my non-functioning, not with me computer. When I get the playlist figured out, I’ll post it. You can still listen to the podcast, though, and figure things out for yourself, if you so desire.

--The first half of Live Friday (podcast) (playlist) on which I wanted to play glam, but wound up doing more of a music related in some way (that possibly makes sense only to me) to David Bowie thing. Ando, one of the regular hosts, arrived at about 530 and played a live Talking Heads album for the second half.
