om sproget / on language

This blog will be written in both English and Danish. If you, as a reader, have trouble with one of those languages and would like a translation, please let me know, and I will do my best to oblige. If you are a Danish reader, please know that I am just learning, and my Danish is far from perfect. If you would like to suggest corrections please do so. Email me at somedayashtrays@gmail.com.

Et mere band fra Sverige

So, yesterday I was talking about Säkert!, which is Annika Norlin in Swedish. All her Säkert! things are in Swedish. However -- update -- you can listen to an English version of 'Vi kommer att dö samtidigt,' performed by the Swedish band The Animal Five, here. I can’t recommend or not recommend it -- I will only say that it sounds very, very different from the Säkert! original -- different enough that I cannot even say which one I like better because there is so little to compare.

Although. If you like somewhat bizarre (for example, on their myspace, their only listed influences is ‘dogs’) Swedish power-pop-rock-ish-type stuff, you might like to check them out. They remind me a bit of all the ‘The…’ bands -- you know, the Killers, the Hives, etc. -- and, especially, I want to say, The Arctic Monkeys (even though at the moment, I can’t think of a single song by the Arctic Monkeys, so perhaps I’m wrong). Anyway. They are definite pop -- but alright.

Undskyld at jeg er ikke skrive i dansk -- det vil jeg gøre næste timer.
