om sproget / on language

This blog will be written in both English and Danish. If you, as a reader, have trouble with one of those languages and would like a translation, please let me know, and I will do my best to oblige. If you are a Danish reader, please know that I am just learning, and my Danish is far from perfect. If you would like to suggest corrections please do so. Email me at somedayashtrays@gmail.com.

Listening to Det Elektriske Barometer yesterday, I've just discovered what may, possibly, become my favorite band ever: Oliver North Boy Choir. Featuring two members of epo-555 (Mikkel Max Hansen and Camilla Florentz) and rounded out by Ivan Petersen, their sound is, to put it very simply, everything I love about music.

I've always been really horrible at describing music, unless I can say what it makes me feel (sometimes I can't even verbalize that). So. Oliver North Boy Choir makes me feel like I'm floating in a dark sea, surrounded by tiny pinpricks of candle -- or star -- light, and it makes me feel at once both dejected and glad; like curling up in a ball and crying and like sleeping with someone I love; like -- I don't know. Some things you can't describe.

Instead, I can direct you to one track, Cobra, which is available for download; yay!

You can also listen to some of their songs on last.fm or myspace. Or you can visit their website, too.
